Joanna Gaines Details Family’s Hilarious Struggle to Put Up 13-Foot Christmas Tree — But It May Not Last

The holidays are upon us, and that means design duo Chip and Joanna Gaines are decorating their family home to get in the Christmas spirit.
The “Fixer Upper” stars, who recently announced they’ll be returning to television, chose a massive 13-foot tree to grace their dining room — but getting it up was anything but easy.
Joanna documented the difficult process on her Instagram story.
The couple picked out “just a little 13 footer” from a nearby farm on Sunday and brought it back to their home.
And with the help of some of their five children, Chip moved the gigantic tree into their dining room.

Chip carefully measured where they wanted to put the tree and managed to get it upright with the help of lots of little hands.
The pine was so heavy that they actually had to tie it to the wall of their home.
Wife Joanna seemed pleased with the placement, even if it meant doing a little bit of furniture rearranging. She wrote:
It’s a tight squeeze in here and that ladder is not gonna cut it but here we goooooo ?

Joanna said on Instagram that decorating the massive tree took “all day and a few friends,” but the end result was stunning.
She opted to go with white lights, accented with silver and white ball ornaments. She captioned an image of the finished tree:
Just want to sleep right here tonight.

Though the Gaines’ Christmas tree looks stunning now, the design duo may have put up their tree a bit too early.
According to Today’s Homeowner, trees only last for about a month after they’re cut, even if they are kept watered.
That means Chip and Joanna’s towering tree may just make it to Christmas, or dry out sometime before.
It’s unclear what type of tree the Gaines’ went with, but cypress, spruce, and fir trees have the most longevity when it comes to keeping needles.
Would you get a Christmas tree this size if you had space? Let us know in the comments.
