Design star Christina El Moussa made her HGTV debut on “Flip or Flop” in April 2013, just a month before Joanna Gaines’ series “Fixer Upper” premiered on the same network.
Though they have similar career paths, El Moussa is denying rumors that the two are at “war” with each other.
The “Flip or Flop” star spoke out on Instagram after InTouch published a story claiming that the two were feuding. She slammed the gossip as “disgusting.”
El Moussa posted a photo of the story on social media, along with a rebuke. The article’s headline read, “HGTV’s Joanna & Christina: It’s War.”
The 35-year-old responded:
What a load of B******t. I’ve never commented on a tabloid EVER (and have swallowed a load of shit from these tabloids).
She continued to say that she has always supported female entrepreneurs, including her fellow HGTV star. El Moussa wrote:
#intouchmagazine this is disgusting. I have always been a huge supporter of female entrepreneurs… #girlboss is my motto. Nothing but respect for @joannagaines ♥️ #goodvibesonly
The article alleged that El Moussa was unhappy about Joanna’s recent announcement that she is returning to television with husband Chip Gaines.
Chip and Joanna confirmed on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that they are going to appear on a new network instead of continuing “Fixer Upper.”
The rumors alleged that the news made El Moussa feel like Joanna was “stealing her thunder” amid efforts to expand her own brand.
El Moussa’s new show, “Christina on the Coast,” is scheduled to premiere on HGTV in 2019.
However, HGTV fans can rest easy. It seems there’s nothing but respect between the two talented ladies.
Joanna has yet to respond to the feud rumors.
